So.. we’ve actually got tickets now which is making this all quite real.
It also means we’ve got a time frame to finish the rally in, which puts a bit of time pressure on us.
We arrive in the UK on July 11th, pick up the car we have yet to buy, parts we’re not quite sure we’ll need and anything else and head down to Goodwood for the Festival Of Slow where a few friends have promised to see us off proper.. We’ve then got until the 18th of August to make it to Ulaan Bataar intact to catch our flight back to New Zealand via Beijing and then back here on the 20th.. all ready for work again on the 21st. Lemon squeezey !
The best (well, or worst) part of the ticket booking was the giant wall sized map, and the realization that we’re driving further than aimee’s armspan !
Thanks to Matthew Deavoll over at The Terrace Flight Centre for his wonderful help with finding us decent tickets, and for making things to easy! And Air NZ all the way, baby! Well, apart from the bits where we’re flying with their Chinese airline partner :)
